Overview
Wachterhaus is the ancestral home of the Wachter family in Vallaki. A thick garden filled with herbs and vines stands beside this wide, red-roofed manor. A slouching roof hangs heavy over furrowed gables, and moss-covered walls sag and bulge under the weight of the vegetation. A handsome red-painted door stands at the house’s entrance, its upper half set with frosted glass.
The Wachter family, once an influential noble line in Barovia, owns and occupies this mansion. The house’s reigning governess, Lady Fiona Wachter, is rumored to be a critic of Baron Vallakovich’s rule.

- Session 14 - Dinner and a Show (Neyavr 4, Evening) - The party attended a formal dinner with Lady Fiona Wachter. Over brandy and conversation, Lady Wachter shared her philosophy on survival in Barovia (comparing it to being a willow rather than an oak), recounted the cautionary tale of Berez, and discussed her faith in Ezra. The conversation turned to the “Vallakovich problem,” and Lady Wachter proposed eliminating Izek Strazni as a surgical solution. After dinner, Stella Wachter appeared through the spirit mirror, and Lady Fiona was finally reunited with her daughter’s conscious spirit—learning the truth about Stella’s condition and Victor Vallakovich’s role in both causing and attempting to fix it. Lady Wachter promised to provide materials for a protective binding circle and assist with saving Stella’s soul.
