From Session 13, the party learned:

The Abduction

• Arabelle was abducted while playing in the woods near the Vistani Camp
• Her cousin Alexei was supposed to be watching her but got drunk on wine
• Yan, a Vistani man, apparently gave Alexei the wine, then vanished
• Savid, a dusk elf scout, found Yan’s decapitated body at the Luna River
• The crime scene showed signs of a violent struggle
• A platinum ring bearing Khazan’s sigil was found at the scene

The Investigation

• The party investigated the crime scene at Luna River Crossroads and found evidence suggesting a supernatural abductor
• Footprints showed the abductor carried something child-sized toward the riverbank
• The party suspects Escher may be involved based on the evidence
• Her father Luvash is grief-stricken and desperate to find her
• The party has promised to bring Arabelle home safely

The Discovery (From Session 17)

From Session 17, the party finally found Arabelle:

• At Van Richten’s Tower, the party discovered a Burned Journal Page bearing Van Richten’s handwriting, a sketch of Rictavio’s carnival sign, Arabelle’s beaded bracelet wrapped around a silvered dagger and the Hooded One Tarokka card, and paint pots in the lake proving Rictavio had been there
• Armed with overwhelming evidence, the party confronted Rictavio at the Arasek Stockyard
• When pressed, Rictavio removed his hat of disguise, revealing his true identity as Dr. Rudolph van Richten, the legendary monster hunter
• Arabelle was found safe inside Van Richten’s carnival wagon, where he had been protecting her from Strahd’s servants
• Arabelle revealed she had deliberately left clues (the bracelet, Tarokka card, and other items) at the tower, knowing someone would follow the trail to find her
• Van Richten had rescued Arabelle from Yan and Escher, who were attempting to bring her to Castle Ravenloft on Strahd’s orders
• The party learned that Strahd had issued a bounty for a girl matching Arabelle’s exact description (dark-haired, olive-skinned, with lavender irises)

Where We’ve Seen Them

• Session 13 — Discussed her abduction with Luvash at the Vistani Camp; investigated the crime scene at Luna River

• Session 16 (Neyavr 6) — The party traveled to Lake Baratok and discovered crucial evidence: Rictavio’s wagon tracks at the lake proving his connection to Khazan’s tower, and a handkerchief with initials “R.V.R.” at the crime scene.

• Session 17 - The Tower and The Truth (Neyavr 6) — Found alive and safe! After investigating Van Richten’s Tower and discovering overwhelming evidence, the party confronted Rictavio at the Arasek Stockyard. He revealed his true identity as Dr. Rudolph van Richten and opened his wagon to show Arabelle inside, safe and well. She had been under Van Richten’s protection after he rescued her from Yan and Escher, who were trying to bring her to Castle Ravenloft on Strahd’s orders. Arabelle revealed she had deliberately left clues at the tower (her bracelet, the Tarokka card, etc.), trusting someone would follow the trail to find her.
