What It Is
An ancient shrine consisting of seven standing stones arranged in a rough circle near the Hunters’ Shack on the northern shore of Lake Zarovich. One of the stones bears a carved butterfly symbol. The origin and purpose of the shrine remain unknown.
What the Party Knows
From Session 16
The party discovered the Butterfly Shrine in Session 16:
- Located near the Hunters’ Shack on the northern shore of Lake Zarovich
- Features seven standing stones arranged in a rough circle
- Each stone is taller than a man and covered in moss and age
- One stone is carved with a butterfly symbol
- The stones radiate the same quiet, patient power felt at the Raven Shrine
- Szoldar Szoldarovich and Yevgeni Krushkin leave them alone, not knowing their origin or purpose but unwilling to anger whatever entities inspired their construction
- The party left an offering of gold coins at the base of the butterfly-carved stone
- The similarity to the Raven Shrine near the Village of Barovia suggests these shrines may be part of a larger network of ancient sacred sites
